GOD is looking for a FEW GOOD MEN!
Without a doubt, I believe that the Mighty Men will be one of the distinguishing trademarks of my ministry. Hoooagh!!! My prayer is that you will also CATCH the vision of the powerful army of men that GOD wants to raise up for these latter days, an army that will be trained to link up with the spiritual power and glory that GOD has invested in HIS son, the true LORD of Hosts. As Mighty Men our face will be turned toward a direct encounter with the LORD of Hosts, even as Joshua encountered HIM before the momentous occasion of the battle of Jericho.
The Hebrew title for the LORD of Hosts is ADONAI-Tzava'ot. It is HIS name for being the Supreme Commander of both the armies of men and the armies of angels. Notice that the title is plural, not singular, because HE is LORD over both armies. The name ADONAI Elohei-Tzava'ot doubles the proclamation of GOD's power and HIS authority as not only the LORD of Hosts, but also the LORD GOD of Hosts.
Four years ago the LORD laid upon my heart to raise an army of Mighty Men patterned after those who joined David during the years King Saul was trying to kill him. Because David's army will be our pattern, I'm asking you to familiarize yourself with the passages about David's life in I Samuel. Those chapters narrate the vigorous training that GOD put David through so he could reign as king over Israel. Like David, we will overcome by learn how to REIGN in our PAIN.
As watchmen on the wall, the Mighty Men will become known as the special forces, the guardian warriors of The Gathering who protect and lead the way in things of the LORD. GOD is looking for a FEW GOOD MEN!
In Exodus 19, GOD told Moses to "go down and prepare the people for MY visit. Purify them today and tomorrow, and have them wash their clothing." It is significant that GOD did not tell them to change their clothing. HE told them to wash their clothing. You won't be changing your identity as one of the Mighty Men, but your identity in the LORD may undergo some washing so you can learn to see yourself from GOD's perceptive.
GOD also told Moses to "set boundary lines that the people may not pass. Warn them to be careful." That's the purpose for the personal questionnaire and the proposed boundaries, not for some legalistic purpose. Those who joined David at the cave of Adullam were "in trouble or in debt or were just discontented." David's Mighty Men had problems.
I have never expected perfect men because I am not perfect, but there will be a growing process for those who join theMighty Men. When the LORD first showed me about raising up an army, I understood the negatives that surounded the men who arrived at the cave of Adullam. So we will not expect immediate maturity or perfection from one another. However, let me assure you, as a participant in the Mighty Men, we can all expect the LORD and HIS Holy Spirit to invade our lives. When the men came to the cave of Adullam, they were in trouble, in debt and discontented. That does not imply they re-mained in that condition.
